# Block Producer Node

The Block Producer Node is responsible for block generation and is governed by the PoSA block-production protocol. The set of block producers is adjusted through on-chain voting and rotates according to a predefined schedule.

Its core responsibilities include producing blocks according to PoSA rotation rules and signing block headers for authentication. In addition, at designated aggregation points, the block-producing node collects and aggregates BLS heartbeat signatures submitted by staking nodes and writes the corresponding online activity bitmap into the block header.

As a result, Block Producer Nodes hold the authority to produce blocks and execute system-level transactions required for network consensus and state persistence.
